Even though recently established, TranTien Foundation (TTF) has been bringing primary care and especially reconstructive surgery to those who have little or no access to such care. TTF has improved the lives of more than 50,000 impoverished children and adults (up tp 2017). In addition, through the training of local physicians TTF has contributed significantly to the improvement of Hue Central Hospital and Hue College of Medicine Department of Plastic Surgery in particular, and the health care system of Central Vietnam , in general. Project Hue: From 2007 to 2019, twelve annual missions were conducted with a total of 123 volunteers around the world, most from the United States who donated their time and paid out of their pockets all expenses related to the trips. They performed surgeries, taught specialized surgical techniques, and provided comfort and care to patients. Whether they participated in the surgical or medical team (working 10 hours a day in a 5 day work week), taught a week-end long seminar, or engaged in continuing consultation with the Vietnamese Professor of College of Medicine; they demonstrated a remarkable dedication by taking a 20-hour flight, and forgoing their vacation time and professional practice to provide reconstructive surgical care to the world’s most impoverished children and families. - Non-medical volunteers (teenagers and addults) took the opportunity offered by TTF, joined the trips, and learned how life is in a foreign and developing nation and observed how health care provided to poor children and families by direct interaction with medical staffs. The volunteers spent time at the orphanage and preschool class, played educational games, organized quizzes and competitions, and taught music, dance, creative arts and crafts.

Partners: Since the purpose of TranTien Foundation (TTF) is to help poor people have access to primary care and life-changing reconstructive surgeries, it has established partnerships with other charitable groups including local, national and international organizations. One the organizations TTF has the pleasure to work with, is Les Amis de Hue (Hue regional Chapter). The group, etablished by Mr Le van Long of French for Humanity, operates in Hue with 5 local volunteers (Doan Tu Hoan,Dang Cong Toai,Nguyen thi Thu,Nguyen thi Minh Minh and Nguyen tu Triet). They work with the homeless, the blind and people at the leprosy village. They refer many patients for reconstructive surgery. Following is what Ms Minh Minh says about the work of TTF: "We are very lucky to be able to refer some underprivleged patients to TTF medical and surgery teams and to witness their competence, passion, love and care in most difficult reconstructive surgeries such as Ha Len's and Nguyen Manh's. All the patients and families are vey happy with results and very appreciative of TTF work. TTF teams bring joy to patients and their families, and lessen the suffering of poor people."
